About High Court of Karnataka
The High Court of Karnataka traces its origin to the Chief Court of Mysore, established in 1884, and took its present name in 1973 when the State of Mysore became Karnataka. Its principal seat is the Attara Kacheri building on Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru, opposite Vidhana Soudha.
The Court has jurisdiction over the whole of Karnataka. Since 2008 it has also sat at Dharwad and Kalaburagi — circuit benches at first, made permanent in 2013 — which handle matters from the northern districts and are listed as separate courts here.
